What does one think of when you hear “Restaurant Eve”? I would say majority of us who live in the Alexandria/DC area wouldn’t use the words “cheap fare” to describe this world-renown foodie haven right? Well, actually that’s exactly what I would say now that I have indulged in their “Lickity Split Lounge Lunch Menu” for $13.50, that’s right, not a typo! So, of course I felt like I stumbled on a hidden gem finding that I can pick any two items off their a la carte bar menu any time between 11:30 and 4pm.
The options are plenty and they change seasonally, of course. I chose the awesome meatball sandwich and a great glass of white wine, while my friends enjoyed a more exotic Indian dish and yummy risotto. So to hush the doubters, you get plenty of food for the price, even desert can be one of your two items. There’s no limit on their home-made bread and butter too, so you leave feeling fool and rich, having experienced a wonderful meal for less than you would have paid for a Cosi sandwich!
